Moving Forward

Well, in less than a month I want to begin looking for coaches for RTP Sports Camps. I have soooo much left to do yet.

My goal was that during the month of January, 2008, RTP Sports Camps will be fully functional. This all came to light when I went to check the mail this week. There was a package addressed to RTP Sports Camps. It was my business cards. Now that I have card, I have to make this thing work.

Here is a video for your enjoyment. I put it here to remind myself how I want to get out of my 9-5 and put more time into RTP Sports Camps.

Getting Cold Outside

I woke up yesterday and was welcomed by a foot of snow. Hmmmmm. Can't say that I was too impressed.

Did you know that it took me forever to shovel my driveway?

I actually don't mind the snow too much. Here are the drawbacks.

1. Makes the roads bad.
2. Have to work to keep the driveway clean.
3. Means it is cold out.

Here are the positives.

1. Get to finally wear my new winter boots.
2. Always fun to play in the snow.
3. Hot Chocolate tastes that much better in the cold.

Now, one last thing about the change in weather.

It reminds me to get to work on RTP Sports Camps.

I want to start giving away camps in January. Here is what I still have to do.

1. Create contracts
2. Visit a lawyer
3. Finish the manual.

Wow. No wonder I am stressed. And to think is it all started when I saw the snow.

All right!

Here it is. Some video from our first season at RTP Sports Camps. Of course, back then it was called Ready to Play Basketball Camp. We have changed out look for sure but the vision and the game plan have not changed.

One thing that we try to do at RTP Sports Camps is to have fun. Dodge ball was part of the daily routine at camp. The kids loved it.

It is all about Priorities

Well, let me tell you about priorities.

As I sit here in my office I can honestly say that I do not want to be here. I want so badly to be working on RTP. But I can't.

I do most of my building in the evenings after my kids go to bed. I guess when you are building something you have to make those sacrifices sometimes.

Here is why I have this cool hobby of building a business.

1. To help kids get a love for sports.
2. To reward volunteer coaches for their commitment to youth.

I have to tell my self that daily. If I don't, I lose track of why I spend the hours plugging away at my computer.

Anyways, Next time I can write without the pile on my desk getting larger I will.

RTP Sports Camps - A Website Story

Three months ago I had the privilege of starting a website called RTP Sports Camps.

Now, the site is doing well. It is growing. Really it has become my hobby and I love it!

However, here I have a chance to share a "behind the scenes look" as I attempt to work a full time job, act as a responsible husband and father and then grow a website on the side.
